The Cantab
Tim Dibble’s résumé says “business” from banking to venture capital and emerging technologies.
But ask him about The Cantab Lounge in Central Square, the most recent addition to his otherwise tech-heavy portfolio, and it’s obvious he is a hopeless romantic – and a mostly reformed barfly.
“I went dozens and dozens and dozens of times and I don’t think I ever had a bad time there,” he recalled when asked about the legendary dive bar set to reopen soon. “It was total sensory overload. Even at night you were struck by the darkness of the place. There’s no open windows and really dim lighting, and then the sights and the sounds and the smells. The floor and the building were always shaking from people dancing.”
